Discipleship

The Gospel of Matthew records the instructions from Jesus to His disciples that have become known as the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Clearly making disciples is a fundamental role of the church.

One of the most effective ways of making disciples is through one-on-one discipling relationships. Many of our adult members meet together weekly for Scripture study, prayer, accountability, and mentoring. These relationships foster mutual growth and encourage pursuit of God. Our one-on-one discipleship strategy includes:

Invitation – Invite someone into your life for the purpose of discipling them or being discipled by them.

Intention – Do this with prayerful consideration and intentional purpose.

Instruction –Seek instruction from the Scriptures and from each other on how to better follow God.

Imitation – Emulate someone you observe who is following God well.
